The Past Master

It's true that Denton and Henry James are both American writers now living in London, but they have little else in common: James has the gravitas (and perhaps the pomposity) of a living legend, master of the literary kingdom, while Denton...well, he's scruffy and often covered in dog hair. But he does have this knack for sorting out problems, and James has just such a problem. About the Author
Kenneth Cameron was born in 1931 in Rochester, NY. He was the author of seven historical novels featuring Denton, a compulsively romantic American with a dark past and a knack for solving other people's problems, though not necessarily his own. Cameron wrote more than 30 books, some under the name George Bartram and some--with his son, Christian Cameron--under the name Gordon Kent. He was a passionate devotee of fly fishing and wilderness camping, and spent most of his time in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State.
