Tom Hartley retires and soon afterwards his wife dies. After years of happy marriage, he is left alone in the large family home. Realising that he has to build himself a new life, he moves into a smaller house, tries new activities and makes new friends amongst other lonely senior singles. He takes Spanish lessons, tries yoga, singles holidays, dancing, tennis and crosses America along Route 66, all with hilarious consequences as he throws himself into his new lifestyle. Jenkins, Tony: - Tony Jenkins was born in South Wales and first worked in the coal mines as a mining surveyor, before joining the RAF for training as a navigator. After completing his service, he had no wish to return to coal mining and joined an international company to work in sales and marketing. Following appointments in sales management, training and general management, he was appointed managing director of a subsidiary company. With a wide range of experience, he then decided to become self employed as a management consultant before retiring to travel, play tennis and begin writing.
