About the Author
McDonnell, David K.: - David McDonnell is an American author and story teller, with a passion for Irish and Irish-American history and folklore. He's traveled throughout the U.S. and Ireland sharing his stories. His stories include factual and historical accounts, old Irish tales, Celtic legends, and plain old yarns. ClanDonnell: A Storied History of Ireland, David's first book, won three national literary awards and received universally positive book reviews. ClanDonnell is a collection of true stories of an Irish clan which tell the history of Ireland in an entertaining, easy-to-read fashion. The tone is that of an oral history. The human stories, numerous illustrations, and humor bring the history of Ireland to life for the non-historian reader. David spent most of his life in and around Detroit and received his bachelor's and doctorate degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He now lives in northern Michigan and enjoys the sunset over Lake Michigan almost every night. More information is at www.clandonnell.net and David may be reached at clandonnell@gmail.com.Wilkinson, Rob: - Rob Wilkinson is an illustrator, storyteller and teacher from Whitley Bay on the northeast coast of England. He dabbles in cartoons, whimsy and occasionally dinosaurs. While teaching High School Science, and working for YMCA Camp Hayo-Went-Ha in Michigan, he has used his creative talents to enthuse and delight children and adults alike. In 2012, Rob gained a distinction from London Art College in 'Illustrating Children's books', and has gone on to work on countless T-shirt designs, several yearbooks, charitable work and educational projects. This will be his first published work, and he is working on several new projects, some of which involve dinosaurs. Rob lives in an old terraced house, a few short strides from the North Sea, with his family, and two eccentric cats. His long association with the author is based on many shared moments of joy looking out upon Torch Lake in beautiful Northern Michigan. He is on Facebook at @robwilkoart (Rob Wilkinson Art), and can be contacted via that page or at rwrobwilko@gmail.com.
