Description

Imagine that you're a vampire on a journey of self discovery. What if you found out the reason you eat humans is because humans eat animals? And what would happen if you began to see humans as more than food and decided to stop eating them? These are the ideas behind Book I: Food.

Pearl is a breathtaking vampire in Washington, DC who seduces men and consumes them by drinking their blood. But it's not the blood itself that sustains Pearl. She lives off of the necromantic energy in the blood of meat eaters. One night, while on the prowl for her next victim, Pearl meets Salaam, who happens to be vegan. Because he doesn't eat meat or animal products, he lacks necromantic energy. Pearl doesn't sense him as food, and they embark upon a romantic relationship. But dietary differences aren't their only problem. Udah, Salaam's would-be girlfriend, is determined to keep them apart.

Now, suppose you're a vampire. What if your kind ruled society and used humans in the same ways humans use animals, not just for food? As part of the ruling class, could you turn your society around through nonviolent means? These are the ideas behind Book II: Livestock.

Banished from Washington, Pearl finds herself in Dementica, where vampires known as The Glorious are in control and factory farm humans for blood, flesh, skin, and milk. Pearl is mistaken for human and ends up as livestock in a dairy. Once Pearl escapes, can she free the other women and make The Glorious stop exploiting humans? Or will she be seduced back into her old ways by Count Silverthrone, the handsome and enigmatic Sovereign of Dementica?
